NATIONAL TRUST AWARD
We are humbled to receive the National Trust Ecclesiastical Insurance Cornerstone Award for Building Heritage. A very special thank you to Silvergate Homes for being our partner to bring our vision for The Post Office to life. Thank you, Lola Emberson of the City of Thorold for nominating us. We love being a part of downtown Thorold’s revitalization.
NIAGARA COMMUNITY DESIGN AWARD
In March 2016, The Post Office was named co-winner of the prestigious annual Niagara Community Design Award in the adaptive re-use category, along with Brock University’s $45.5-million Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts that transformed the former Canada Hair Cloth in St. Catharines.
NIAGARA COMMUNITY DESIGN AWARD 2015
Completed in 2015, the former post office has been revitalized to include 11 apartment units on the upper floor and a retail space on the bottom floor that utilizes the name The Post Office. This project was noted for the reuse of a downtown building, and attention to detail that have reutilized elements of the art deco building and incorporating additional components that enhance the overall appearance.
EMERGING BUSINESS AWARD
Shannon Passero received the Emerging Business Award at the 2015 Women in Business Awards in Niagara Falls. Hosted by the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce and Women in Niagara, awards were given out in several categories including science, innovation, and technology.
DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI AWARD
Niagara's Catholic School Board awarded Shannon the 2014 Distinguished Alumni Award, the first to receive such award. Shannon was recognized for her commitment to sustainable business practices and ethical treatment of workers.
NIAGARA ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR
Shannon received the Innovative Small Business Award at the 2013 Niagara Entrepreneur of the Year awards. This award recognized her ethical production standards.
2017 NIAGARA CENTRE COMMUNITY AWARD FOR BUSINESS LEADERSHIP
For Canada 150, Canada recognized members of the Niagara community who have made an impact in the lives of others. Shannon Passero was one of the recipients of the 2017 Niagara Centre Community Award for Business Leadership.
PAUL OBERMAN AWARD FOR ADAPTIVE REUSE
Recognized for the work breathing new life into the Old Firehall and the Post Office. The Paul Oberman Award for Adaptive Re-use honors the late Paul Oberman, a master of adaptive reuse , whose company, Woodcliffe Landmark Properties, was responsible for some of the finest specimens in Ontario of heritage buildings that have been given new those responsible for projects that highlight and incorporate significant heritage structures in fitting and imaginative ways, thereby conserving them for the future use and enjoyment .
