our movement for social change

A significant addition to Niagara’s shopping scene came in June 2013 as Shannon Passero opened its doors in the Old Firehall in Thorold. The store grew in popularity and in August 2015 it moved to the restored Post Office on the main street of Thorold.

In the age of big box retail and a chain store-driven fashion market, it is a treat to have a specialty boutique in the rejuvenated downtown of Thorold. Shannon Passero is the essence of a specialty store, offering a mix of ethically made clothing and accessories.

A true destination store, the Post Office offers a unique shopping experience in a beautifully restored heritage building. It is a lifestyle store that imparts beauty and optimism to its customers. Shannon and her team have travelled the world to uncover many one-of-a-kind products with special attention to collaborate with talented artisans. The store offers women an eclectic assortment of high quality clothing, accessories, home furnishings, global finds, gifts and décor that exhibit influences ranging from vintage to global.

Shannon’s clothes are sold internationally at upscale boutiques and national retail chains. Now that the Canadian designer has firmly planted her roots, local residents and visitors are able to find them while shopping in her Niagara store.

The specially chosen merchandise not only fits the Passero aesthetic, but also embodies her philosophy of sustainable and ethically produced garments. For years, Passero has been at the forefront of environmentally friendly manufacturing processes, donating portions of profits to global and domestic initiatives, and partnering with women knitters in Southeast Asia to create employment opportunities.

Opening the doors of Shannon Passero’s retail store is a celebration and culmination of a 15-year quest to share her creations and finds with like-minded women. Regardless of what they are seeking, from the moment shoppers walk through the doors of The Post Office on Front Street in Thorold, they will be immersed in the world of Shannon Passero.
